Privacy Policy

How Abel collects, uses, and protects your information, including data accessed from your connected Google account.

Last updated July 3, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Abel (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website at abelhq.com and our services. Abel is a platform that lets service businesses create AI phone agents that answer calls, schedule appointments, and provide customer support, along with a CRM to manage customers, calendar, and email.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account & personal information — name, email address, and payment information.
  • Business information — business name, hours, address, schedule, phone number, and other details needed to provide the service.
  • Customer & appointment data — contacts, appointments, call transcripts, and messages created through your use of the service.
  • Connected Google account data — when you choose to connect Google, the data described in Google user data.
  • Usage & device data — cookies and similar technologies used to operate and improve the service.

How we use it

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the service
  • Process payments and manage your account
  • Schedule and manage appointments, calls, and messages on your behalf
  • Provide customer support
  • Keep the service secure and prevent abuse

Google user data

If you connect your Google account, Abel requests only the scopes needed for the features you use. With your consent we access:

  • Google Calendar events (calendar.events) — to write appointments booked through Abel to your calendar and read your events so already-busy times are blocked from your booking availability.
  • Gmail (gmail.modify, gmail.send) — to import customer email into your Abel CRM inbox, apply labels and read state, and send email on your behalf from your business address.
  • Basic profile (openid, email, profile) — to identify the connected account.

We access only the connected account’s own data, only to provide these features, and only while the connection is active. Access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and are never sold or shared for advertising. You can disconnect Google at any time from Dashboard → Integrations, which revokes our access and deletes the stored tokens.

Abel’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train generalized AI/ML models. We use it solely to provide and improve the user-facing features described above, and only transfer it as needed to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.

Sharing & subprocessors

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share data only with the service providers (subprocessors) that help us operate Abel, under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing services to us. These include:

  • Supabase (database and authentication hosting)
  • Vercel (application hosting)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Twilio (telephony and SMS)
  • ElevenLabs (voice AI)
  • Resend (transactional email delivery)
  • Google (calendar and email features you connect)
  • PostHog (product analytics)

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Abel and its users.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you disconnect an integration we delete the associated tokens; when you close your account we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encryption of sensitive credentials at rest and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and continuously improve our safeguards.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent for optional processing such as connected integrations. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@abelhq.com.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email. Your continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
